31  General Boards / Map Requests / Sega Megadrive (Genesis)/Sega CD Game Atlas on: June 27, 2013, 02:41:39 PM
Following the classics of the previous Master System / Game Gear Game Atlas, I have compiled their successors that act as the counterparts for Nintendo Classics. What would be the Alex Kidd chapter 7 has only one game released which is "Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle", therefore I have replaced it with the two games of Vectorman. The Phantasy Star chapter excludes text adventure games. There are a total of 28 game titles. Where there is '+' it's a game that only exists on Sega 32X or Sega CD. Here is are the games of this atlas:

32  General Boards / Map Requests / Re: Genesis Game Atlas (a list of incomplete Genesis game maps) on: June 26, 2013, 09:26:27 PM
It would be a Genesis Game Atlas if had the most popular and notable games series selection. There are six Sonic games, three Shining Force games, two Wonder Boy games, three Phantasy Star games (excluding the eight text-adventure games), three Sega of Japan Disney games ("Castle of Illusion", "World of Illusion" and "Quackshot"), three Shinobi games, one Alex Kidd game and three Golden Axe games. I'll get around to creating that topic after the SMS and Game Gear Atlas has had its full completion.

That goes for Scooby-Doo Mystery also.

The best I can do to connect the Real World maps to the Cyber World maps is to label where each jack port goes. I have now touched up all the Cyber World Maps and I am busily connecting the Real World Maps and adding some details. I do however have a couple of real world connection samples. With the newly bridged Real World maps I shall also provide a new Map List, once again in quasi Chronological order.

EDIT: I have made a bridged map of DenTown, I'm pretty sure that is my best effort in the bridging task. When you see the map, you'll noticed some parts of the streets obscured by the tall buildings, but it doesn't matter very much because these covered corners are not that important in the gameplay. Overall the result is fantastic.

I also have a treat for those of you who want to play Mega Man Battle Network 4.5 in English. Everything you need is at and be sure to get Lunar IPS.

UP TO DATE: The entire mapset of Battle Network 1 has been revised and sent. The differences you will notice are that all the cyber world maps have their data crystal labels centralised, the zenny labels have been shorted with a z symbol to reveal more map area and there are also several clues and hints added to some of the maps, such as code numbers in the School Network System and recoloured programs to represent the corrupted ones in the Power Plant Network System. Added to the Real World maps are icons to show where to find the hidden chips. Let me know what you think when the maps arrive and I shall continue to revise the other battle network mapsets.

I am now taking the time to revise the Battle Network Series maps, to improve their quality and make some addition. Do you think that it is a good idea to bridge certain Hardware World (Real World / Lan's World) maps? For example "Lan's Bedroom" and "Kitchen & Lounge" can go together in the same map titled "Lan's Residence". That way, referencing rooms in certain areas is easier. Some of those maps will be difficult to bridge due to the some wide walls and close tight fitting layouts, but I'll sort it out (probably the DenTown blocks are an exception).

This is what I could come up with gathering the symbols:

Round 1 ??技の戦い ー
Round 2 ??技の戦い 二
Round 3
Round 4
Round 5
Round 6
Round 7
Round 8
Round 9

The curvy font makes it difficult to distinguish the precise symbols. Use my findings to your advantage. I shall edit this post, when I get a chance to find more symbols.

I must say those improvised letters you did for the NES version were very good. The Apple II version of Immortal does have a richer colour scheme and a smoother animation. Go for it.
38  General Boards / Maps Of The Month / Re: 2013/04: Xargon (PC) - Zerker on: April 04, 2013, 01:26:51 AM
An excellent choice for MOTM. Jill of the Jungle is pretty much a predecessor to this game. Absolutely rich in colour, crispy in detail and lots of atmosphere in caves, forests and factories, odd looking monsters and of course Dan Froelich's matching music. The music of "More Giant Trolls" level has an uncanny likeness with minor differences to the music of "Episode 2 - Level 1: Atlantis" of the game "In Search of Dr. Riptide" by the same composer. The disappointing bit about Xargon is a lack of variety in transformation. While Jill could transform into a firebird, frog or fish, Malvenious could only transform into a wasp or ride a submarine. If I didn't know emeralds to buy upgrades was part of the game, I'd say it spoiled the challenge not unlike a cheat code.

I have never done graphic game hacking, when I mapped Jill of the Jungle it was done entirely by Printscreen, DosBox and Microsoft Paint and viewing the levels required much looking up and down, moving around and a few cheat codes to aid.

Ages ago I only made a sample map of the first level, just to demonstrate the outcome of a level map within this game, but it is long since replaced by a better and more accurate version by Zerker himself. If you really want to finish your collection once and for all, you might wish to map the Demo level, the one where he fights black ants and enters three samples of the trilogy. For the time of this award congratulations Zerker, you've truly earned it.
39  General Boards / Gaming / Re: Multi play anyone? on: April 03, 2013, 08:03:15 AM
I hope you can use this Multi play as a opportunity to map the Magmoor Caverns in Metroid Prime Pinball, that is if your Multi play is compatible with NDS.
40  General Boards / Mapping Tips/Guides / Re: how big can a map be? on: March 24, 2013, 01:43:21 PM
Does the game have noticeable and distinguishable checkpoints? If so, it might help to cut off the first map at the end of the checkpoint area then place the checkpoint area again in the next map till the next future checkpoint and so on. The problem with a long map like that it take quite a bit of loading time and it would take some scrolling to access and observe the desired place. Ask Terra about the NES Gradius game, there were no clear indications of the current stage to the next stage, it just continued after the boss without so much as a pause.

Another is complete now that Phantasy Star Gaiden has been completed.

EDIT: Sonic Drift and Sonic Drift 2 now have their respective maps done.

Excuse me Jon, but the Arcade Metal Slug 6 maps section should be titled "Metal Slug 6 Maps", instead of "Metal Slug 2 Maps".

You might find this useful Paco, I'm sure.
44  Main Boards / VGMaps Social Board / Re: Did Flip Industries Really Create "Super Kid Icarus"? on: November 24, 2012, 06:33:44 AM
Exactly what do you make of this ?

It's one of those fake or unfinished super nintendo roms. Could rom have been created by Flip Industries in an attempt to create false evidence the rom existed before the maps on this site were made? Just a suspicious speculation of mine.

What is more on it appears that game has been remade. You guessed it, nothing new, just graphics changed easily with graphic modifiers and of course the layout remains the same. If they think changing the game to seem original is to going to change their status, they've got all past evidence of their theft flashing before their eyes.

Check this link:

Mega Man 3 (NES) has one minor yet noticeable difference from the US and Japanese versions. Browse around the site if you'd like to check out the unused artworks and audio. At , Fireman's stage is certainly different as a prototype.
