The third one is nice, but I actually prefer the second one with Ultra Magnus in the middle; it looks more epic and Unicron looks much more menacing to me.

Yeah, and the Ultra Magnus one also doesn't have a character in front of them looking dumbfounded (like Bumblebee and Spike are in the other two).  The Hot Rod (or is that Rodimus?) one kind of gives it away that Hot Rod will use the Matrix, too.  Otherwise, they're all very similar in layout, and it's just a matter of which Autobot you like best.



Maybe they could use all three.  Different DVD cases for collectors, or just anyone who prefers one of the covers over the others.



Or they could use them for not only the front, but also the back and the insert.  Though I guess the back would likely be covered with text and screenshots and all that stuff.

According to IGN, the first and the third are part of a linticular display. They know how to pull out the stops for a 20th Anniversary < /SARCASM>.
