Something similar might work very well for some of the larger maps. If it bothered to work on a true tile level it could also be very light on the server.

Yeah, I've seen one of those for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The coolest part about it was that they included screenshots at key locations, like the photos that show up in the real Google Maps. But for 2D games like that, I don't think it's very useful. Not to mention, I like saving maps to my hard drive. Online only stuff annoys me.

No it's not MM8 I was talking about it was an interactive map I was working on similar to this but stopped working on it. But seeing this makes me interested starting working on it again.
