Hello people!

I recently came across this website that claims to be a [url]"better VGMaps"[/https://vgmaps.de]

Despite the ".de" domain, the site is in Brazilian Portuguese (with some pages in English), and it looks like it was created with AI and populated by web-scraping maps from VGMaps. It seems to host the same maps found here, though it's missing newer submissions. For example, my own maps, from May 2025 onward, aren't present.

They even have a "Scoreboard" listing the top mappers (which, admittedly, is a fun idea 😄), and a News section with posts like [url]"Better VGMaps expands its online presence"[/https://vgmaps.de/news/better-vgmaps-expands-online-presence.php]

Has this come up before?
Does anyone here, or Jon, know about them? Did they contact VGMaps at any point?
Do you know if this is authorized or otherwise legitimate?

I just wanted to flag it and check with the community before jumping to any conclusions.

Hello everyone!

After finishing some of the maps on my to-do list, I've been checking through the list of unmapped games and a few of them really caught my interest. I wanted to ask: is anyone currently working on any of these?

Of course, it's quite a few games — I expect this project will keep me busy for a few years! But I'd like to avoid doubling up on work if someone else is already mapping any of them.

Hello there, VGMaps!

I'm a longtime reader of the site, but I only registered recently. In fact, just a few days ago.

I've made some maps for games I like from the NES and SMS, and I'll be posting them soon:
- Gain Ground (SMS): All stages and characters (done)
- Battle City (NES): All areas (done). Also known as Tank'90
- Monster Truck Rally (NES): Default track (95% done)
- Rainbow Silkroad (NES): Overworld done; currently working on cities/areas and items. Based on a translated version from Japanese
- Makai Island (Famicom): Overworld done; currently working on areas and items. Based on a translated NES version of the original Japanese release. There's already a map of Higemaru Makaijima (MSX version) published on VGMaps by Fabio Albergaria. The NES version I used is a cancelled port. As far as I can tell, the maps are identical, but the graphics are slightly different.
- Valkyrie no Bouken (Famicom): Overworld done; currently working on areas and items. The overworld has already been published on VGMaps by George_sn
