I almost forgot. I wanted to tell you, which of the kooplings are my favourite and that is Wendy, the spoilt, brat and only girl of King Koopa.

Maps In Progress / RE: Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (SNES)

I'm very impressed with Vorpal86's first stage map. What I don't really like is Arthur and the high score placed at the end. The exit door is best left alone and closed which adds to the decorative style of the stage. I really hope he can finish this game. Too bad RyuMaster didn't resume and I hope Vorpal86 doesn't get annoyed at me because I hand picked the easiest stages to map. He may improve my maps if he wishes, so long as he doesn't mess it up with changing the exit door for example. By the way if this game is complete it will be one game ticked off the coming SNES recreation project.

I do not mind if any others' maps get put up before mine. Let me inform you RT 55J that I have, no more Prince of Persia maps, I am leaving this to other people, which is why I requested it on the forum, and yes I did get bored of redoing the same layouts. What I actually did (I will only list certain few titles) is Ninja Gaiden (SMS), Alien 3 (SMS), Megaman BN (GBA) and more versions of the many ports of the World Heroes and Fatal Fury series. I shall stop sending maps for a while and discuss on the forum for a change.

VGMaps Social Board / New Polls
« on: April 04, 2008, 03:53:39 am »
I have not yet voted for polls because I don't find many polls suiting to me as the polls seem to consist of brand new games and consoles which I am very new to. I would like it if there a poll on TV series related to your favourite games. For example why not ask the poll, "Which of the seven kooplings in Super Mario Bros. 3 do you prefer?". If you can't wait to find out what I would answer I will tell in my next post.

On the contrary these April Fools maps show that people do have a good imagination and creativity besides being a fan of the games. I think it would be a good idea if all three Legend of Zelda Gameboy Colour games were put together and were adopted the trilogy title "The Legend of Zelda, Oracles of the Era - A GBC Legacy" which make all three games together seem very fancy.

I understand there is no existence of Oracle of the Hours but now that April Fools is more or less over, Jon, don't you think that the maps of this month ought to be from an existing game? Take "Art of Fighting" for instance. Nobody seems to really care about Neo-Geo games or maps, mostly Sega and Nintendo (I don't have anything against Sega or Nintendo I just prefer variety), still I don't anyone on the site who is a Neo-Geo fan, I know Neo-Geo games consist of Fighting games.

Map Requests / RE: Prince of Persia

I have thought about your three choices Maxim and I believe editing it out with bricks just like all the other levels would work out well. That way you need not put a message saying the area is inaccessible and there might be little or no question about your final draft design. Hope it works out well.

VGMaps Social Board / RE: No Weekend Update?
« on: April 01, 2008, 12:47:16 am »
Perhaps you may wish put up one map every night or morning and then a proper update when you get your chance. That way you may be able to tackle the 100 maps in queue, as it doesn't look easy to do them in two free days and nights on a weekend. I suppose a a few minutes at night or morning can't hurt to get a little progress done. But don't worry I'm keeping my patience and not losing it.

Maps In Progress / RE: Rare NES games (hacks/homemade)

I suppose we should focus our attention on the original games for maps, especially popular titles like Megaman (Megaman Board has has not yet begun). And speaking of popular titles, I have just finished and sent the complete set of maps from the SMS game "Ninja Gaiden".

Do you know the game "All Night Nippon - Super Mario (J)" in the NES section? Isn't that a hacked or fanmade game? It looks incomplete and it looks like the goombas and the mushroom head are replaced, but is that a sign of hacking or such?

I don't think they are hacked, modified or unofficial but not popular maybe. I know they must be original according to my research on Wikipedia, but if an article or review has changed, I cannot be certain. I agree that hacked versions are not good at all even if they are a famous title like Harry Potter, but the freeware sites I go to get non-ESA protected roms don't indicate they are hacked and I do trust them, take www.rom-world.com for instance. If any expert on this site knows more, keep me briefed.

Maps In Progress / Rare NES games (hacks/homemade)

I have just finished doing all 5 maps for the NES game Harry Potter (Yep it's the Philosopher's Stone) and when you have ever imagined beating up Dudley, Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon in a game. Next I've done the NES version stages of Fatal Fury 2 (I never thought that version existed) and finally I've completed the NES version of World Heroes 2 which has characters extracted from TV or old games like Goku (From Dragonball), Leo (From Ninja Turtles), King Koopa (From Super Mario) and many others. I will turn my attention towards the NES games 'The King of Fighters 96'' and KOF 99'.

I hope this week's update will be big, since we missed two weeks worth. But I wonder how Jon can put up so many maps in one or two days.

Jon just today I would to report that WOD1980 just swore twice with a double post on a map request. That language is uncalled for. Don't know what sort of person he is but this is no way to talk to those who make points about maps and games.
