Congrats Will!

This game series is/was still pretty popular. Sometimes you can find this game and one or some of the others at a retail store. This series has had the longest Retail store shelf life than any other game I can ever think of. I never really played much of this one but It was always fun. Same with Starcraft. I never really had the patience for these types of games but this one wasn't too bad.

I thought of doing this game. But if no one has tried mapping it or played it - WARNING - Game is Very Hard!

I'm probably gonna break a week or so before finishing up or starting anything not announced yet which for goodness sake - is None.

I'm back again!

I haven't bought a new system since the Wii was still popular. SO it appears I have played 7 of these Famitsu rated games.

Out of all these games..

One's I've Played AND Completed or Just at the end of the game
- Zelda - Ocarina of Time
- Zelda - Wind Waker
- NEW Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Zelda Skyward Sword
( Inside the Last Dungeon - Been about 8 months since I played)

One's I've played at least 1-2 hours

- SoulCalibur
- Vagrant Story
- Elder Scrolls - Skyrim

So that's it.

It's been 4 days and no response yet from the mapper. Truth is I have already redone the first two Warlock Zones again and they look nothing like the one's posted. There was quite a bit of inaccurate mapping going on with them. So yeah basically I've remapped them all again from scratch.

As far as A Link to the Past goes I think it it's cool to have shared the load. As long as all the maps keep the same style so it looks presentable all should be well. Some mappers like toadd just the maps so nto be as minimal as possible. I of course like to give it some sort of design and layout as they use to do in strategy guides and books with maps back in the good ol days of Brady Games and Nintendo Power.

On then to Warlock Zone III...

Good we got some submission activity. Sometimes there wont even be a Maps in Progress thread for a lot of the game maps submitted (I'm guilty..)

Carry on dark_lord and looking forward!

OK this game has officially been completed and submitted so now this can go into the Map Gab. I'll be working Mystical Ninja maps now. The game is fun and very fun to map. It has some many cool things to do you want to include everything you can in the maps! =D

Good day to all and to all a good day.

Hey guys/gals!

I'm officially now working on Mystical Ninja maps. Also there are a few posted already by KindarSpirit but there wasn't an official Ninja thread.

I've reached out/emailed KindarSpirit but I see no account of him/her listed in Members list. The three maps posted are actually a tad inaccurate/missing areas or wrong BG as I've found. I remember elsewhere on here someone mentioned their incomplete Chrono Trigger map.. I was to ask if I could edit/add to the three current Warlock Zone maps that were posted. So it's been since 2008 those maps were posted and so-far no sigh of KindarSpirit. I have added/edited and remapped some of those areas and was working on Warlock Zone II. The design of the maps are now a bit more elegant and fun. I've used grid based representation as usual and kept an eye out for detail.

So anyone heard from KindarSpirit and if not is it fair game? I just want to make sure things are kosher and cool with it all. Don't want no huge flames! =)

Of course I'll keep him/her in the credits for those three maps. Those current three maps can remain posted and just add the edited ones. I'm almost ready to start Warlock Zone III so will begin the new undone maps.

Meanwhile I'll work on maps...

Welcome! It's good to see a new member. New members always welcome!

Retro games are where it's at! They are pretty easy to map and fun as in the good ol' days! There are plenty of retro games released that haven't even been mapped yet and there is work to be done! Have a good stay and hopefully see some maps from ya!

=D

Good day mate!

Welcome! It should be OK.

RPG's are awesome! I own all RPG Maker apps myself. At any rate, hope you stay here is a good one. It's a bit slow here as of late but just send a post and someone will or should respond when in need!

Have a nice day señor!

Hey! There's an app you MIGHT try called "xNview:. It has a lot of view and utilization functions for images/photos. It's been a while since I used it. It might be a bit cumbersome for doing the simple thing you want.

Also, not sure what to look for but while viewing an image in a windows folder, right click on the (Name, Size, Date, Type) bar and select "More". I know you can have Windows Show image sizes/width-height but not real sure the Ratio. There's quite a few options/selections to choose from. Perhaps you can assume by it's image size. That's all "I" can think of.

I searched as well but to no avail! I found CompuPic Pro ; )

Hey All! Or, Tera atm.. ;)

Yes I'll try hanging around. Was thinking of doing some more SNES Mystical Ninja maps. I actually mapped an area or two a while back but just small ones. I'll need to refresh myself and break them out.

OK. All that's left to map is the Mizrabel Battle! So including maps with and without BG's. One or two stages look a bit too busy with the BG included but no fear. All maps have a BG and NoBG version! = D

This totals 27 maps aside from the two BG-NoBG Mizrabel Battles.

Update.

It appears that I've only two more areas to map. So I could be done pretty soon! I've done quite a few. I'm getting the hang of this mapping stuff... ;) It's fun!

Hope all is well with everyone... It's been a ghost town round here lately.... :/

Mapping Tips/Guides / Re: Recommended programs to assist your mapping

Well it's been slow in this topic but I may have found something useful. Here is a web page based BG ripping tool that can extract a full BG from any or almost any Zsnes, Vba or Gens save state. I've used it some with Castle of Illusion and it really does get you the BG. It's cool. I think it will mostly work best with side scrollers or any game that has a parallax scrolling BG.

You'll need to save state in game where the BG is currently on screen, then upload the save state and click begin. The next page will take you to the extracted image. From here you can then copy the image to get it.

So here it is. The Mickey Mouse thread for the Genesis version of Castle of Illusion.

I'll start by asking if I should include the BG in each map or l eave it, or submit both a BG version and a noBG version?

The maps are pretty easy to make out but sometimes the BG blends too much into the tileset layer. Like the forest.

Here is those maps - Practice Level 1-3

Enchanted Forest - NoBG - BG

Toyland - NoBG - BG

The Storm - NoBG - BG

Those are all complete.

I also have The entire Enchanted Forest Level complete which includes the remaining 3 areas/stages of it plus the boss for a total of 4 areas. I'm thinking each level has 4 areas but will find out.

There are plenty more maps to do so I'll check back soon!

Thanks!
