Map Requests / Games NOT Mapped or Listed
« on: March 16, 2014, 02:15:45 pm »
Not a map request actually but didn't know where I should post this.

Is there a list somewhere of games not being mapped, not posted on the main site or maps for games that are not real easy to map?

I've tracked down about 5 games not showing up on the main site or the forums. Perhaps one could draw up a list of these known games. I mean, of course, leisurely speaking. I'm certain that there are countless games not known, not mapped or just plain ridiculous to deal with.

I guess I could use the one's i have on my list for starters. I've seen, however, games mapped out that were the Japanese versions of US games but the US versions weren't mapped. Of course a lot of times if it's for like NES, the games would be identical for the most part. Anyway, Thought I'd just post up here an idea to help make it easier to determine weather or not a game's been mapped yet.

Here are the 5 Games I've found

N E S
-------------------------------

Legend of Kage
Mickey's Adventure in Numberland
Felix the Cat
Captain Skyhawk (Difficult to map!)
Demon Sword - ( Fudou Myououden J)

Maps In Progress / Sword of Vermillion
« on: March 09, 2014, 10:21:42 am »
I searched for "Vermillion" and didn't see any maps for this yet other than the two DarkWolf posted. I used that Wyclif map and started mapping the rest.

I'm not sure about the layout / design as I did what I could to make things real easy to understand.

Should I add in the first dungeon map to the first town considering it's the first objective for that town and area?
 - (Each area has a town/outter area/dungeon set of tasks to be done)

At any rate, here is the map. I've mapped the outter world area and the dungeon as well but haven't organized them yet.

1 - Wyclif and Area Maps (Including area Dungeon with Map Legend)

Feedback is welcome as it always is. DarkWolf wont get mad?

Cheers!

VGMaps Social Board / Anguna - Warriors of Virtue
« on: March 08, 2014, 07:48:12 pm »
For starters this game is a homebrew and it's not allowed. I've read the post about homebrew maps not being allowed but I just thought I'd mention this game as I've been playing it and it's well worth the mention. I personally think it's a very professional homebrew. It plays just fine for me and I wont gripe at what it doesn't have that it might could.

Some may know about it some may not. There is a version for GBA and DS. It's rare to find a homebrew that actually looks and feels commercial quality. I've played a few commercial GBA games that wasn't as good as this game. But if your in the mood to play a nice litte Action RPG this one will certainly suffice.

Over and out!

Map Gab / Journey to Silius - COMPLETE (NES)
« on: August 26, 2008, 11:13:34 am »
Here ya go folks. All 5 stages for Journey to Silius by Sunsoft. I thought Stage 5 part 2 would be another stage, but it's only the final boss. So here they are, complete and ready to SHIP. Heh. I have already ran these maps through PNGGauntlet using the Huffman compression and gained an overall savings of about 82.92kb. It seems to take a while. I guess it's kinda slow.. But not bad results though.

The stage names were taken from the game manual, and some shortened a bit. You can find a text version of the manual below along with many.. MANY more game manuals in TXT format. Also, if interested, there is VIMM's Lair which has lots of scanned game manuals in vimm and PDF format for many systems.

This information should be well enough I hope so no other editing will be required. I want to cut the work load for Jon. These should be ready to post. :)

VGMaps Social Board / Mario Tilesets and Maps
« on: August 21, 2008, 01:43:24 pm »
Hey folks. I thought maybe I'd post this link to the collection of tilesets I've made from scratch so that if someone wants to make a mock Map of some Mario sort, or other feel free to do so.

This link is to my forum for creative maker users or anything game. There are some sample GAme Maker levels for each tileset and bg's to showcase their use. Would you use them?

Map Gab / Journey to Silius (NES)
« on: August 19, 2008, 06:10:19 pm »
Hey folks. I'll be working on Journey to Silius for NES and also, but not limited to, Shining in the Darkness Maps. I'll work on the Journey maps more though. It shouldn't take too long to make maps for this game. It only has 6 levels, but the game is quite tough. It's nearly impossible to get lost in this game anyway cause' you can go one way right, or down, or left, and can not go back. I have included the Check Points as well. As far as I can tell, that should be all of them. You can continue from 4 different spots on Level 1

Stage 1 - Deserted Space Colony

I've included a short and sweet strategy for the first sub-boss and the Helicopter. If done precisely, you can defeat the sub-boss without taking any hits. I did. The Helicopter pods are a bit tricky.

Map Gab / ( Genesis ) - Shining in the Darkness
« on: August 17, 2008, 12:40:08 am »
I decided to go ahead and work on the SITD Maps. I've almost labeled Dungeon LV 1 so here is what I have. This map took extra time due to my paper map being off by 1 1/2 grid. Threw me all off. The rest should be pretty quickly done when I get a chance to finish them.

How's the layout and design? There are other labels to add like Boss Creature locations, Character locations, Jail Cells and key item locations.

SITD - Dungeon Level 1 - Ground Floor
(REMOVED. No longer being hosted) Tryin to clean up. : )
I'll finish it up soon.

Gaming / Classic Phantasy Star 5 Petition?
« on: August 16, 2008, 11:06:02 am »
Hey, anyone know where I can post a petition about Sega and sonic Team, making another classic Phantasy Star game? I would really like to play another classic Phantasy Star game.

http://pscave.com/ps1t/preview/towns.html

I mean the game should keep its classic roots, and perhaps have the graphics idea as they used in Sega Ages The Phantasy Star Trilogy/Generations games.

They only released that Phantasy Star Generation 1 and 2 collection with enhanced music, graphics and several extras for the Japanese PS2 and it was never translated into english cause sony of America was being a butt head about localization. Stupid sony. I would have loved that collection.

There was a release that featured pstar 1, 2 and 4 (three wasn't officially made by sonic team) and all three included very nice stuff.

So where to make a petition? Anyone?

Message Board Help / Login
« on: August 13, 2008, 08:50:01 am »
Is it just me, or is the message board now opening up a new page when I click Login? I didn't notice this before last night. Is it supposed to do this? Also, I tried to post last night and the message opened in a new window and gave me a script error page. I waited 5-10 minutes to post again and it worked right.

Thanks

Here are the links to all the maps for discussion. I hope I've done them good enough. After all, this is my first complete game maps submission. Other than the other few maps I've submitted. I've actually done several other incomplete maps for other games but I just did those for my own sake. Comments are welcome. I hope these maps will help when those playing need a handy dandy map.

Mapping Tips/Guides / Dragon Warrior Overworld Editor
« on: August 10, 2008, 02:34:59 pm »
Hey folks. I just ran across this utility that allows you to view and edit the overworld maps for DW2-4, and also view, but not edit DW1 map. This should make it real easy to very quickly make a map for DW1-4's overworlds. Otherwise it would take ages to snap each screen. You can view at one time large areas of the map. I mean, you will prolly need to take a snap of a large area, then scroll the map in the editor some, and take another snap of it.

Here is the link to zophar with that utility.

Gaming / RE: My Mega Man 4 Remix Game for Game Maker
« on: July 28, 2008, 11:03:53 pm »
Hey folks. I just thought I would share this with you all. This is a WIP Mega Man 4 Remake I've tried to work on over the past year or so. I've done all the graphics in it, by enhancing and/or redrawing most everything in it to give it a 16bit look rather than the 8bit NES look.

I'm not sure if I will ever finish it but I thought I'd share and ask you guys what you think. Is it play worthy? It is more or less just a starter engine for the game I would hope to remake and there isn't much AI included with it. I was gonna do that after I had all the levels and maps layed out in the game.

I haven't given this out to many people. Mostly I was looking some for anyone who may have game creation in them that knows some about Game Maker that would like to help me out cause I am not too good with coding much. That's one reason I haven't did much on it lately, it's a lot to do by yourself. I'm mostly just a graphics/pixel artist and coding isn't too-my thing.

So let me know how the graphics look, the scrolling bg's (which I actually wrote the code for, it simple code so it was easy) and if there is anyone who may be interested in helping me with it, or know someone who does. I've been to the Yoyo/GM forums but a lot of folks there are plain rude and don't help much.

This may be off topic and if so I'll kill the thread. I just wish to share what I've been hiding to see if anyone likes it or not.
