VGMaps Social Board / RE: Happy New Year!
January 03, 2009, 01:51:30 PM
You know how we refer to the 1920s as being between 1920 - 1929, the 1970s as 1970-1979?

When we say the 1900s? Does that mean 1900-1909, or 1900-1999?

That is is "The nineteen hundreds" the years from "nineteen hundred" to "nineteen oh nine", or "nineteen hundred" to "nineteen ninety-nine"?

And not that anyone us will be alive then <_< >_> how will extremely distant future years be pronounced? Like the year 74,154? At the moment we seperate the year in groups of a maximum of 2.

763 is "seven sixty-three". 1176 is "eleven seventy-six". Will we do the same thing with 74,154? Like seperate it into 7 41 and 54 and call it "seven forty-one fifty-four"? And what about 6,523,134? Will that be "six fifty-two thirty-one thirty-four"?

This "twenty ten" vs "two thousand (and) ten" (for some reason, us English say 'and' after a thousand or hundred), is a debatable thing.

Some people say that, although we say this year is "two thousand (and) nine", when we are in the year 2042 we'll pronounce it "twenty forty-two" and refer to the years 2000-2009 as "twenty oh something" ... yes "September 11th two thousand (and) one" could become "September 11th twenty oh one", and 2000 could be "twenty hundred".

Lol it's nearly 2 pm here on January 1, 2009 :D Do you update them pretty much as soon as the month begins in your local time? Like the 1st of that month at 12:00:00.0000000000000000000000000000000 am? (To the nearest 0.0.0000000000000000000000000000001 seconds)? <_<

If I've played:

Donkey Kong Country (SNES)

Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)

Donkey Kong Country 3 (SNES)

Donkey Kong Land (GB)

Donkey Kong Land 2 (GB)

Donkey Kong Land 3 (GB)

Donkey Kong Country (GBC)

Donkey Kong Country (GBA)

Donkey Kong Country 2 (GBA)

Donkey Kong Country 3 (GBA)

Donkey Kong 64 (N64)

Donkey Konga (GCN)

DK: King of Swing (GBA)

and downloaded all 3 SNES games on the Wii, would you call me a die-hard DK fan? I haven't played EVERY game, but that's .... still a lot, right?

VGMaps Social Board / RE: XX days until Christmas!

You know, I'm 19 years old now, and the things I usually get for Christmas are I dunno, DVD boxsets of stuff like The Simpsons, or South Park or whatever, CDs, and stuff. I also jump around going " OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG itz tomorroooo YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY" ... <_< >_> of course I don't really...

What actually happens is my grandparents 'secretly' take this big bag of prezzies in to my room. I usually kind of wake up at this time (usually 7 am ish), but then just lay there with my eyes closed pretending to be a sleep, then wait for them to go out... then get up, turn my light on (it's usually still dark at that time), and open my presents. Oh it's just a Wii. .... *opens another one* ... OH My GOD! I DON'T BELIEVE IT!!! A PACKET OF STAPLES <_< OK it's not that lame.

Hey, Piranhaplant, do you have a website with all your maps on it? And can I see the Mario Kart DS maps you've made (the remaining ones), before they're put on here? <_<

I was actually thinking, now, that you could probably use a moon jump code to see the whole track. I'm sure the same could be done in MKDS, however, I lost my ARDS <_<
