Just started on Super Mario 3D Land last night, what an awesome game. I got the hang of the whole 3 dimensional play really fast, I am moving through the levels quickly like I do when I play the 2D Mario games on SNES.

You know what, their website is hosted on a free Comcast page. Had Geocities still been around they would have probably used that instead. I would not even worry about these guys

Map Requests / Re: Request Listings

Thanks, I think you should go back to the way it was to where you mentioned what the updates were and which dates, etc. Because the way it is now, people would have no idea what is being updated. There are too many games on that site to click on to see when there is something new.

I had been clicking on some of the Dragon Warrior games on that site to check for updates, but I never knew about any of the stuff you mentioned. Paco did a great job on the SNES DQ3 Maps and NES DW4 Maps, so if he does any others from that series I know they will be just as good.

I requested Dragon Warrior 3 for Game Boy Color because nobody ever mapped that game. I also think I asked about Dragon Warrior 3, but a complete map set like Dragon Quest 3 was for the SNES maps. (You know with maps of every single place you can visit including shrines)

Are you the person who owns Vgmapper.com? If so what happened to that site because the home page is just an image of maps now, all the updates are gone.

Maps In Progress / Re: The Adventures of Batman and Robin (Gen)

These look good. Are you doing sprites for this game too? I noticed that no one has really ever ripped sprites from it.

Map Requests / Re: Castlevania: Harmony of Despair - Chapters 10 and 11

I am glad someone is working on the extra Chapters. I had asked if the person who made the originals was going to finish, but he did not reply yet, so I was not expecting anymore from Castlevania HD.

These maps are looking great. I agree that people should not start new projects before they finish current ones, because it is hard to back to finish, or you may just simply forget. This goes with anything in life really. Any type of project or job you are working on, not just making maps. Even playing a video game, I often dont want to go back and finish the game once I put it down and start playing others.

Yes it does look the same, except for the colors change of course. Since your maps were custom, I agree that it is obviously your work. Had they used NES maps it would be easy to say they came from anywhere. I dont see what the reason would be for them not crediting you for making the maps.

VGMaps Social Board / Re: Censoring the Internet Bill
« on: December 10, 2011, 08:28:44 am »

(Also...my site is run from here in Canada but actually hosted in Texas in the United States...how does this law apply?  Admittedly I should read more about this proposed law but from the little I understand of it, this is my knee-jerk reaction and first impression of it.)

From what I heard they can block your site from being viewed in US. I wasnt trying to scare anyone, I was just wondering if you guys heard about this stupid bill. I cant see it passing because everyone keeps saying how it will cause a lot of job losses if websites shut down. It will also force communism on America.

Just bought Mario Kart 7 and Super Mario 3D Land on 3DS. I am almost done beating all the regular tracks on MK7, then I will start playing online multiplayer.

I will start on Super Mario 3D Land in a few days, after I finish up Dragon Quest 6 on DS.

Map Requests / Re: Castlevania: Harmony of Despair maps completed..almost
« on: November 26, 2011, 08:15:44 am »
I didn't make them, all credit is due Konami, I don't need any credit, I just love this site, and I love all things Castlevania, and I saw you had a 'Castlevania' feature on your home page so I thought I'd contribute. If you absolutely need to credit someone than you can use 'uladraz', that's fine. They are ripped from the Xbox live version. As to how, you can google: wxPirs and quickbms. I don't have any of the DLC yet so I can't rip that, sorry.
BTW, WRS from Xentax created the BMS export script.

Here is the title, the full title screen is really large so I didn't rip it, let me know if that's ok:

These maps look great. You did a good job on them. Just wondering, would you be mapping the other 5 Chapters/Levels that are downloadable content? That would be 7 through 11.

VGMaps Social Board / Censoring the Internet Bill
« on: November 26, 2011, 08:11:55 am »
What do you guys think of that law they are trying to create in the USA where the internet will be censored? I dont know the complete details but it is my understanding that anything copyrighted could land you in jail. Now they probably wont go that far depending on what you did, and as long as you agree to remove the copyrighted stuff.

Also I heard that they can force web hosting companies to shut down your site, and also force your site to be DNS by whoever is in charge of doing that procedure. I heard that video game playthrough videos on YouTube will all have to be taken down if this law passes. That means that sites like this one that show maps might be in trouble, as well as all those video game sprite sites. Also even video game fans sites/shrines would be in trouble. Like a site made just for Zelda, or Mario, etc.

If this thing really happens, the entire internet would be screwed. It would be back to a boring place like it was when it first started in the 90's. Sites like YouTube would be finished because even the vids of people singing songs would have to be removed along with the VG walkthrough vids. Also tons of people would be without jobs if their website closes due to this. I really hope this does not get passed. If they want to go after people pirating movies and stuff, then go after them. But dont be like China and just censor/block everything.

You can read more on it here: http://americancensorship.org/
