Map Gab / Marble-Man Marble Madness 2
« on: April 30, 2015, 08:48:52 am »
I'm thinking about doing a Marble Madness 2 map compiled from a video since there is no emulation.
I have attempted to contact Scott Evans the owner of the MM2 machines through his youtube site. So now I'm waiting for a reply.
If anyone know a better way to contact him let me know.

What do all of you think, wast of time or worth a try?

I found a youtube vid of some levels that I compiled in to 3 maps. the video was low quality.

Thanks for the recognition.

TerraEsperZ  your right about it being  difficult to arrange. Most of my time was spent on trying to arrange as best I can without covering the art in thick lines. their probably are ways to make the map easier to follow but it wont be pretty.

Map Gab / Arkanoid: Revenge Of Doh arcade
« on: November 02, 2014, 12:46:19 pm »
I thought that I finished mapping arkanoid2 but I have been informed the game has different rounds depending on if you exit left or right and the US version is different from the Japanese and World version (1st round is different and the rounds are rearranged).
So what do I do? should I map out the left side rounds of the World ver. and stick the US ver. 1st round on it or do I map out the US separately?

I've got good new. I found someone that has those books and he has scanned all the art for me.
the maps are done and all I have to do is add the scanned images and refine the maps, so it should be finished by this month.

OK then. I have mapped 9 areas so I will add the art that I have now to them. I am using Gens+961 with the "walk through walls" cheat code to map it. the intros that I put up was just to get things started. I will not put them up right away, as I want to take my time to make sure that the quality is good. So to every one, be patient.

Searching the net I found some of Yoshitaka Tamaki landstalker art (not all, but a lot) should I add them to the maps I'm doing or leave them out? Original I wanted to include all the art he did for landstalker.
Well what do all of you think?

here is the manual cover for Heart of Diamond, I knew I had it. Got it of the internet a wile back. cant fined it online anymore.
So it looks like they had the box art ready before the project got cancelled.

Maybe, but unless someone uploads a scan of the manga Heart of Diamond will never know. the only scans I have are the U & J manuals.
What I really want is Tamaki's  character design art works not seen in the manuals. I was thinking of including the art in the maps I'm doing.

VGMaps Social Board / landstalker sequel and books

Did you know
there was a landstalker sequel planed for the MD called "Landstalker 2 - Heart of Diamond"
Heart of Diamond was the only direct successor of Landstalker, although not as a game.
It was a Fanmanga which was launched by the Climax artist Yoshitaka Tamaki.Tamaki and maybe others took part in a fanzine in the unofficial sequel released in 1997, for which he did the character design and the script. The manga was a basic design for #2 but  for some reason Landstalker didn't do as well in Japan as it did internationally so I guess that is why it was scrapped, so that might be the reason it was not made into a game. The manga is extremely rare and hard  to find today. there are other books like "Encyclopedia Landstalker" and "THE MAKING OF LANDSTALKER, genius programmer Hiroshi Naito"
These books have character design art not seen anywhere ells.
Has anyone ever herd of these things? Does anyone have these things.

Are there any maps out there for Popfulmail on the SEGA CD and if not is any one planing on doing it? I'd like to see a map of that. Anyone else?
I did a little of the SNES  Popfulmail, but  since it is in (J) and no one is planing on translating it :( I stopped.

Maps In Progress / what do you do if you can't complete?
« on: July 21, 2013, 06:38:26 am »
Sometimes there are maps you you just can't fully complete because the emulation is not 100% (for the graphics)or layers are missing and you just can't fined or get to some areas.
Do you abandon the project or complete what you can and update it some day when your able to?

Mapping Tips/Guides / Re: how best to map LAYERS?
« on: July 16, 2013, 07:55:31 am »
I'm having trouble mapping some BG layers in Metamorphic Force(arcade). stages 3,4,5,6 have BG layers that scale & stretch and MAME will not show them when I press F4.
Anyone know how I can extract those layers?
