Some people might already know this, but after years of struggling ripping sprites or doing maps, I finally found a way to have the black background color changed to something else when removing the background layer in FCEUX.

Just open the fceux.cfg file with Notepad++, go to "gNoBGFillColor" and change the number to something else. I haven't found the number for pink yet, but I settled with "35", which gives me a purplish color that I don't think is used by any game.

Map Requests / Re: World Map request for Lunar 2 Eternal Blue (Sega CD)

Thanks a lot Lüt for this incredible work!!

Hello, I see this forum is not very active but don't hesitate to answer later anyway, I'll check it at least twice a year:
So I watched NES Atlas on youtube (he takes a TAS and make it zoomed out with maps of this site) about Legacy of the Wizard, and at 2:47 I saw a big evil face that you probably don't realize is here while playing the actual game, not zoomed out, or at least you can't see it entirely, do you know other things like that ? So far here is what I found too:
- sonic wing fortress zone somewhat actually looks like a real big plane (it may sounds normal but for instance the wrecked ship in super metroid doesn't look like a ship at all)
- similarly, equinox (solstice 2) boat level surprinsingly actually looks like a 2 levels boat, there is no map of this game on vgmaps, I saw it on another site in 2007 (with only room shapes drawn)
- snake rattle & roll is a single mountain splitted into levels
- at some point in world of warcraft, an area unavailable for players had written really big "nothing to see here move along", written by hand.

That's not a swastika, that's a Manji. An old religious symbol that the nazis too, turned it the other way around and used it for evil.

Hey Lüt, thanks for still working on it :)

There's a map here if you really need it:

Sad to hear about the family issues. As for the Lunar 2 map, either way is fine. One full map or segmented, as long as there is one. I don't really need it, but since the map is different from the PSX version, and there's already a PSX version online, I thought it would be nice to be able to see the SCD one too. Plus, it would be the first Sega CD map on the site.

Map Requests / World Map request for Lunar 2 Eternal Blue (Sega CD)

I would love if someone could make the world map for the Sega CD version of Lunar 2 (the PS1 version has a different map).  Both bizhawk and Gens Re-Recording have the option to disable layers (Gens RR allows more disabling than bizawk) and here's a brm file with the whole map available to explore already (pick the Epilogue save).

https://www.sendspace.com/file/imqpe7

If you need to make cheats, then you'll have to use Bizhawk. Searching for Sega CD cheats can sometimes be complicated  because games can use both the Genesis ram or the Sega CD one. So, when searching for cheats, got the Settings -> Memory Domain and pick either 68K RAM (Genesis side) or CD PRG RAM (Sega CD side). Unfortunately the only way to tell which one the game uses is to try to search for a cheat, if you keep getting zero results for a simple cheat, then pick another memory domain. If neither of those domains provide anything, then try "CD Word RAM (2M)".

If someone does this, I think it will be the first Sega CD map on the site?

I have a few requests if you're looking for something to do. I don't really need the maps or anything, but it would be nice to have them mapped by pros.

Jurassic Park 1 & 2 (SNES)

And... there's this obscure game called No Escape for the SNES. There aren't any FAQs for it, and pretty there's much zero information about what you need to do in the game. I've never been able to even pass the first area. It's a sidescroller, but you need to gather materials and combine them to build other materials (such as combine bottle, gas, and rag to make a molotov). The game has different endings depending on what you do to complete or escape the final mission.

Anyway, it would be cool to have maps for such an obscure game.

Just wanted to thank you again for the Phantom 2014 and SOS maps you made, without them I would have never in a million years finished those games.

The maps wouldn't be replaced, they would just be an alternative.

When looking for unused content it's helpful to have intimate knowledge of what is and isn't accessible normally. I don't usually have that kind of knowledge.

If you are not sure, then post it on their forums and other people will check. Also, TCRF is a wiki, so if something is indeed used, then someone will just delete it.

The 2nd game was released a mere 5 months after the first, which leads me to believe that they were planning either to release it as one game, or as two games (like Pokemon). That's probably why both games share many assets.

I think that it's fine that you posting this stuff on other sites. However, it would have been a good idea to ask first just in case.

You're right, sorry. I assumed that since you're receiving the credit for it, it wasn't going to be a problem.

I'm hesitant about calling the content unused since I'm so unfamiliar with the game.
And sure enough, I went back again to scour FAQs and learned that the "Smokey the Genie" minigame is actually used in-game. That makes sense given that it felt like a complete minigame.

Crap, you're right. I have a battery save for both games with everything unlocked if you're interested.

Also, your link is broken. The exclamation point isn't hyperlinked properly.

Since the games are so similar I was able to get the maps from Alert! within a few minutes.

The only thing of interest I saw was this:

Quote
De la part de l'équipe de "Martian Alert"
Salut Jérémie

Which Google Translates to:

Quote
From the team of "Martian Alert"
Hi Jeremiah

Note that the european version of Looney Tunes Collector: Alert! is known as Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Alert!.

View "Hi Jeremiah" Screen (USA version):
    Code (Game Genie): 8A1-7DA-F74
Code (Manual): Change the byte at 0x1C517D to 0x8A.
Description: Restart the game with this code on.

Excellent. I'll add that too.

You should really use your talents to scour for unused content too and post them on TCRF.
I also added your codes to gamehacking.org

Shiny, I posted your extremely interesting findings on TCRF: http://tcrf.net/Marvin_Strikes_Back!

You think you could look for unused stuff for the first game (Looney Tunes Collector: Alert) too?
