Xevious Fardraut Densetsu (PC Engine/TG16)

This port of Xevious is from the Turbo Graphx 16 system known as PC Engine in Japan, where it was only released in.


The Japanese writing in the title screen says "Fardraut Densetsu"

This version of Xevious has 2 games to play in it.  Arcade which has the original game, and Fardraut which is a 4 stage game with new enemies and a story line.  I got the Arcade game done.  As far as the Fardraut game goes,  I would appreciate some help finding more hidden objects namely Sol Towers and Special Flags though I found some already.

One of the stages, that I didn't include, is a revisit to areas 7 to 16 of the Arcade mode which is skipped if the obscenely difficult boss at the end of Stage 2 Area 4 is defeated.

The maps are sent to Jon by e-mail.  I'll update should I find more Sol Towers or Special Flags.

I'll now move on to map Xevious Fardraut Saga for the MSX.

I have now got started on Xevious - Fardraut Saga for the MSX.  So far, I got the first 3 areas of Recon (original game) done.

I sent the Recon maps to Jon by e-mail.  I now got started on the Scramble maps.  The Scramble game, like the original, just has the 16 areas with little or no storyline and no stages.  I went through those 16 areas to locate the background of the world map. I then copy/pasted those slices to their respective areas to be mapped.  I then just take screens of the targets and copy/paste them to the area maps.  I then do some Sol searching by using the invincibility cheat and a power up to increase the bombing range and bomb away vertical ranges in each sweep and repeat the sweeps to cover about 8 vertical ranges.  It turns out that there are a lot of Sol Towers in some areas.  I'll post the Scramble maps here as I progress.

I just PM'ed the above links to Jon, so hopefully he'll find them there.  As far as mapping these go, I should have all the Sol Towers uncovered using the "Sol Searching" technique I described above.  But there may still be a flag or 2 left out.  I'll update if I find anything new.

I read somewhere that there are four flags in the game, but I couldn't learn anything more about them except that they had "effects". Oh, and something about their position being random within a single row? I'm not sure if it that's in all versions of the game though.
