Tracks of Mario Kart Wii
« on: May 13, 2010, 03:59:57 pm »
Hi guys

I'm new here at VGMaps.com and I'm currently working on some maps of Mario Kart Wii for Wii.

Here you can see N64 Bowser Castle as an example:

http://www.imagebanana.com/img/mhqcyft5/N64BowserCastle.jpg

It is half done and flipped. In order to upload it I put down the quality to 85% and saved it as .jpg.

I hope you like my first try  :D

see ya

Ohohoho... very nice. I'm hoping you'll be able to put in the lava and such in the right places when you finish. Considering how big it is already and how big the other tracks could get, you might want to consider using a smaller scale. I'm not really sure what would be a good size though.

I'd love to get my hands on those models. :D

It is really big I know that. Maybe I scale it down to 4000x4000 px (gotta think about that).
Maybe I put items on the track and about the lava ... will be much work though.
I will see tomorrow.
Going to sleep now. (In germany its already 1 AM  :o )

Welcome to VGMaps PALMarioFan, and let me say that I'm impressed already with your work on mapping a 3D game. We need more people as skilled as you :)

How did you do that?  How did you get the models?

If you are able to map Mario Kart Wii then you will be considered a God.  I suggest making the background color for the maps completely black when you make the final versions, but other than that this looks great.

I know it was a long time ago I posted here, but I think its better to continue here than starting a new topic.

The reason why I post here is because after having a failed attempt at mapping Mario Kart Wii in the way I intended to do [First post], I have found a new way.
But unfortunately I still don't have my new computer to work properly. [Gonna buy it in about 2 months when I have the money for it]

However here is the result:

[And yes I know this is Baby Park from Mario Kart: Double Dash!! but the tracks work the same as in MKWii - therefore I could also map MK:DD!! ;D ]

Looks good so far. Are you going to add the icons to show where certain things are on the tracks? Like the items you pick up, or the pipes, etc.
