Maps In Progress / Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts (SNES)
« on: June 07, 2007, 01:59:15 am »
Yes, I am alive, I've just been without a computer for the past few months.  Anyway, now that I have a new computer, I figured I'd better kill myself trying to map this game. I've got the first stage mostly done, but that's the easy one :)  Here's the not-quite-final map:

If you guys have any better ideas on how to get that dang parallax background to look better behind the main level, let me know.  That's the only idea that I have (stretching it), but it looks really pixelated, like a really old computer game.  Thanks for your tips/critiques, and I'll keep working on the next few levels.

Message Board Help / www.vgmaps.com suggestion thread
« on: August 23, 2006, 11:41:14 pm »
I didn't see any thread already made that's solely for suggestions about the actual site, so I figured "what the heck."  Feel free to post any ideas you have to make the site better in this thread, I guess.  Ideas don't help anyone if you keep them to yourself, you know :P

Anyway, something I've been wanting to see something  put to distinguish the newest maps from all the rest.  That is, when you make an update, alongside the table or something just put a *new* or something to distinguish them from all the rest.  This would really help when you upload more maps for a game that already has some.  For example, while the 7th Saga updates were coming in at a regular basis, I had a bit of trouble finding out which maps were just added and which had already been there before.  Yes, I know I could just look at all of them, but this suggestion would save me that little bit of time :P

For an example of what I'm talking about, just look here.

http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/arcade/

You can see what's new because it has the "- (New)" next to it.

I hope you get my idea.  I've pretty much beat it into the ground by now :P

Gaming / Any of you guys play StarCraft?
« on: June 12, 2006, 02:23:42 pm »
>_>

But seriously, I've been playing StarCraft a lot lately, and it would be fun if some of us got together and played a few games.  Assuming some of you are decent, that is :P  I'm not very good myself, but I've been trying to get better.

Map Gab / Secret of the Stars (SNES)

There is no Completed Maps board, so I'll post this here instead.

This looks great.  I appreciate all the work you did in posting these, Jon, but you made a boo-boo.  As far as I can remember, I made those maps, not any.  Unless he submitted them before I did and didn't say anything about his progress anywhere, then I think this is a little boo-boo :P  It's nothing serious - I'm just bringing it to your attention.

Gaming / Mother 3

So yeah, the game is out now in Japan.  Anyone else been following this like I have?  As in, checking Itoi's (translated) website everyday for new gifts, and perusing Starmen.net every other day for Mother 3-related updates.

VGMaps Social Board / New Forum

This looks pretty sweet.  There's a lot of new features here that I have never even seen before in a forum (no, I don't go to very many).  So how do you like it so far? (you meaning ya'll, not any one person in particular).
