RE: Castlevania Maps

Since my lengthy post was eaten by the time warp, let me just say it again. I know how to rip Nintendo 64 maps, but I can't do it here on campus because my laptop is a piece of junk. The two Castlevania 64 games are just the right kind to be able to be mapped with the method I use to map Paper Mario. I am willing to teach someone how to do it themselves, as well as offering to render the rooms myself if it proves itself to be necessary.

If anyone feels they are up to the challenge, contact me. If you waited on me to do map this game myself, it would be several years before I got to it.

Here is some eyecandy:

I might be interested in doing it, I am guessing that I have to play the entire games on my computer in order to map them?

Of course. The method I use is the N64 equivalent of a screenshot map. You'll have to visit every corner and passage in the game.

Excellent job on the new map, Revned. :D

I'd actually be interested in doing this both because I liked both N64 games despite their numerous faults, and because it seems like an interesting technical challenge. I'd just like to finish some of my other projects first.
Current project that are on hold because job burnout :
-Drill Dozer (GBA)
-Sonic 3D Blast (Genesis)
-Naya's Quest (PC)

No Castlevania map on this site past or future can compare to Revned's SoTN full-castle map masterpiece.

I would love to see more Castlevania maps from him, including the rest of 'Akumajou Dracula Special: Boku Dracula-kun (J)' for the Famicom.

Thanks! The Kid Dracula levels after the first one aren't very Castlevania-y. It plays more like a Mega Man game, actually. I may do them in the future if I run out of ideas, but I don't have any plans for them yet.

A (sort-of) Castlevania game that plays like a Mega Man game?  Seeing as how you mapped all the NES Mega Man games, that totally sounds like a game that'd be right up your alley, Revned!  :P

Today a few Game Boy Kid Dracula maps have arrived. The game is a lot more complicated than I thought it would be, that it's too troublesome for me to continue. You will also notice that stage 3 isn't quite finished but its as far as I could go.

There is a Japanese game released on DOS and PC-98 called "Rusty". It's not a Castlevania game, but it has a close likeness to one.
