Stolen from IGN.  I'm using a bigger version as my Active Desktop wallpaper.

I suppose you'd be excited, wouldn't you? So you have to tell us, how did you manage to get tickets? Sorry if I've missed it; I didn't read all the original posts on the new forum.

Oh Jon, please share the wonderful SWAG you come home with.

And please try to log on the site with impressions of the cool games, especially the Revolution.

I can't see it at work (Websense blocks sites like IGN), but I'm guessing it's slightly less than two weeks (by about half an hour?) until the LA Convention Center doors open early just for the media folks.  That includes me.  :)

Yeah, slightly less. Like by less than 2 hours.

Are you getting all happy? I remember getting all excited about going to the CES this year. Then I got there and, whoopdi doo. It wasn't as exciting as I thought. The best part was fighting some vendor in Halo 2. We were pretty evenly matched, but I edged him out.

Ah, bet E3 is different. Almost... Magical even. :)

Hey Jon, if they have it there, make sure to give your impression on the Revolution controller when you get back. that's the one thing that I still find iffy about the new system.

What's iffy about it?

The naysayers seem to all be people who haven't tried it yet.  Just about everyone who's actually handled it loves it.  Apparently even EGM, usually a bit on the anti-Nintendo side, loves it, and has put the Revolution on the upcoming June issue (as opposed to, say, the PS3).  They warn that the scary thing about it will be the line-ups at E3.  o_0

If my hands-on impressions are worth anything, I'll likely be glad to give 'em when I get back.  I don't know how often I'll be able to log on during the week that I'll be in LA, so you may hear a lot about it before I even get a chance to write anything up.

EGM backing the Revolution fully...

http://www.1up.com/do/blogEntry?bId=6947164&publicUserId=5379799

We just finished our June issue (which will start shipping right when E3 starts). Our cover story? The Nintendo Revolution. After working on this article, I must say, I've gone from "excited" to "OMG super-psyched" for this machine. I can't reveal anything right now, but I think the Revolution will put Nintendo back into the game for this next-gen console war. Forget GameCube and Nintendo 64. If Nintendo can get the right developers backing this system for a few years, it will be a winner. Stay tuned....

I wonder why I can see it now.  I guess WebSense isn't on right now...

Just a little under a week!  By this time next week I may have finally gotten to the front of the line to play the Wii Super Smash Bros. game!  o_0

Fancy. I don't think I ever saw an explanation, but did you get one of those media passes for VGMaps.com like you talked about last year?

Not much to explain.  I just applied at www.e3expo.com, and lucky me, I got approved to go.  (EDIT: Oh, I thought you asked HOW I got one.  Yep, this is the media pass.)

I thought they weren't supposed to mail out E3 badges to Canadians, but apparently they did and that's what the picture above is of.  If you squint you can make out that it says "Media - Black".  That means I have access to the showfloor on the E3 Media Only hours on the first day, and also to the Media Lounge, but I have no idea what the "Black" colour designation signifies.
