Maps I want to see be added:

Bugs Bunny's Double Trouble

Desert Demolition

Cheese Catastrophe

Taz: Escape from Mars

Taz-Mania

You're missing the point of this topic.

This topic is about getting the games mapped that are featured in the Sega Genesis Mini 2.

None of the Looney Tunes games you mentioned are on the Sega Genesis Mini 2 (and I mean, officially, standard, how you buy it, not like hacked or whatever).

We "gained some ground" (heh) thanks to G.E.R. today, with maps of
Gain Ground,
The Ooze,
and one map from Populous.
Now every base Genesis game is at least partially mapped!

Also, more of the maps from the hidden Space Harrier.  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there's one more stage to go, and then the "BONUS" section will be complete!

Getting close to the end, many thanks to G.E.R.!

Looking forward to seeing maps of the Sega CD games!

I guess there's not much to the last area of Space Harrier, but with that final map of "Absymbel", it looks like the "BONUS" games of the Sega Genesis Mini 2 are now completely mapped!

Feel free to correct me if that's not the case.

If the list is accurate, looks like we have a couple of Shinings, a couple of Eccos (sounds like we're talking about light and sound there), Populous, and Mansion Of Hidden Souls left.

I don't know much about Mansion Of Hidden Souls.  Skimming through some images and videos of it just now, I'm reminded of the classic PC game, The 7th Guest, which I also requested in my own requests topic.  That game is notable for being one of the first CD-ROM games showcasing the storage capacity of CDs with its many video cutscenes.  But that's The 7th Guest... we can talk about that elsewhere.

When I think of the Sega CD, I always think of Night Trap and Sewer Shark.  I don't know how I didn't hear about Mansion Of Hidden Souls.  It might as well have been hidden... at least to me...

Congratulations on completing the BONUS section!

Looking forward to seeing that SEGA CD section completed, if it's possible.

Actually we already have Ecco's CD maps:
Ecco the Dolphin include 5 extra levels (exclusive for SCD), the Tides of Time include some objects (exclusive video-glyphs) on the same maps. But don't fix anything now, I'll send new maps with objects and waythrought lines for all games tomorrow and I'll tell you what need to fix.

Thanks, received.

I'm checking the files now.

Did you find out any more about Populous?  I'll be putting up the three maps you also submitted, but do we know how many types of areas there are?

I recall the Super NES version has many, but I'm guessing the Genesis version could be different.  Sadly, there isn't a guide for Populous on GameFAQs specifically for the Genesis version, and there aren't many playthroughs on YouTube that would make finding this out easier.

I actually don't know how many maps should be, all videos that I found were for SNES/MS and other platforms. There really have a lot of levels (=scenarios/scripts), but all Genesis levels, that I checked, was only this 4 themes: grass, desert, snow and volcanic.

Do you think it is okay to mark Populous as complete, then?

Thank you for the submissions and clarifications on Ecco The Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides Of Time.  Still took a while to get them up because I had to rename a bunch of existing maps that I figured are still worth keeping.  Both of the Ecco games have now been checked off of the Sega CD section.

Awesome work yet again, G.E.R.!  You really love taking on these multi-game requests, don't you?  Your effort is appreciated.

I guess that leaves the two Shining games - Shining In The Darkness and Shining Force CD - as well as Mansion Of Hidden Souls, which I'd be interested to see how that is handled.

Comparing Ecco's map
« Reply #23 on: October 01, 2025, 10:54:11 pm »
I was compared every map (my and exist) before saving and there are minor discrepancies between them. Some images coincided almost 100%, but some maps have differences (colors, walls, block structure, sea plants). Apparently, due to various emulators or ripping method.

One interesting that I found: Machine levels (with autoscrolling) has a looping maps like Sonic 3 & Knuckles. This has no practical significance, but if you break autoscrolling and try to move freely around the level, the right edge of the map will continued seamless to the left edge, and bottom edge to top edge.
Ecco Jr have has more levels than maps: there can be 2-5 levels on one map with the possibility of way between them.

G.E.R. has mapped out Shining Force CD and Mansion Of Hidden Souls!  Turns out that last one wasn't that hard after all.
Thanks, G.E.R.!

He has also clarified that the Shining In The Darkness map set by Vorpal86 that we've had all this time is actually complete too.
Belated extra thanks, Vorpal86!

It looks like... could it be?  The Genesis Mini 2 has been completely mapped?

I'll check it over, and if so, I'll thank everyone involved and edit the original post (like I did with the others when they got completed), move this topic to "Map Gab", and make a front-page feature image sometime.

EDIT: This is who has mapped what... looks like G.E.R. was involved in mapping 46 of the 61 games, most of them completely by himself!  Wow!  That's dedication!

It wasn't so difficult due to use emulator with the possibility of manage layers (visible/invisible), game genie codes (invincibility player) and free moving around some levels.
There was small sized levels or small levels count in most this games.

If anyone's still in the mood for some Sega Genesis mapping...

I'm always wondering if I should make a topic about mapping all of the games available on the "Nintendo Classics" apps (as they are now called) for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online (the online service for the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2).  More games are added occasionally, so it'd be something I'd have to keep updating, but I imagine it should easily be possible to map them faster than they add to them.  :P

The apps include games from the NES/Famicom, Super NES/Super Famicom, and the Game Boy/Game Boy Color on the basic tier.  Subscribing to the Expansion Pack also adds games from Game Boy Advance, Nintendo 64 (with a separate app for M-rated games, and more features on the Switch 2), Virtual Boy (announced but not yet available at the time of this post), and GameCube (for the Switch 2, not the original Switch).  And it's not limited to Nintendo platforms, there's the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive as well.

Here's the current list of those, as seen on Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_Classics#Sega_Genesis_/_Mega_Drive

As of now, there are 51 Sega Genesis games, but 42 of them have already been mapped.  Certainly having the Sega Genesis Mini and Sega Genesis Mini 2 fully mapped knocked out many of these classics already.

Now, I haven't checked if those 42 games are FULLY mapped, but the nine games that we don't have any maps from at all are these:

ESWAT: City Under Siege
Flicky
Mercs
MUSHA
Puyo Puyo (J)
Super Thunder Blade
Target Earth
Thunder Force II
Zero Wing (E)

So yeah, I dunno... should I make a "NSO/Nintendo Classics apps" requests list?

From my personal requests list, all I have right now for the Genesis is one Sega CD game: Snatcher.  (Though maybe I should add Zero Wing (E) to it, weird that we don't have that already...)

Thanks again for all your hard work!  I don't mean to sound like I'm all like "you're not done yet, LOL".  Though I am a Nintendo fan, I always feel like the Genesis needs more representation here.
