Took me almost three months to complete, but I finally made a new custom model! And this one's background is pretty relevant to this site, too.

So, see these maps? Anyone who collected the old Nintendo Power Player's Guides and got this game will know that Rare put in the original, high-resolution renders they used to create the world maps for the game. With the help of those renders, I was able to bring to life...

THE FLYING KROCK!

And as an added bonus, I even recreated the cockpit interior, as seen in K.Rool Duel.

Enjoy! I have more map-related projects in the work, though I'm hoping to finally kick myself into starting Majora's Mask as well.

I love the character designs in Inafune's stuff, so I'm really glad to see him working on this. The name makes me think of Cyborg 009, though. :P

The way TSR is set up requires you to have a certain number of posts before making any requests, simply because of the number of people who show up just to request sprites and do nothing else.

Hmmm... now I have to wonder about the fidelity of my other rips...

Weird... I did the exact same thing, and yet we got two different results.

I noticed you put up more Mischief Makers maps, and I have a question about the game's logo you used. How did you rip it? Which version did you get it from? I ask because I went and ripped it from the US version, and noticed that there were very slight differences in the gradients, and some of the colors were different, but otherwise the logos were pixel-perfect matches. I'm curious to see if this is a subtle version difference, or if there is something else at work here.

Very impressive maps, even if they get a bit confusing to look at. But alas, that's what happens when mapping 3D worlds in 2D.

Not content with just images of the game's models, they went and recreated all of the levels with clay, paper, and various other media. Sure, they're not exactly to scale, but they're still amazing. Cool, Cool Mountain is just beautiful.

Yeah, even with codes to freely move the camera around, the "blurry" aliasing will always be a problem. I'm hoping it won't be a difficult issue to solve, as long as you know how the camera's coordinates are handled.

Oh, I see. It's really hard to notice without jumping back and forth between the images. Since the graphics are model-based, everything is jittering around as the camera moves. Since the parallel projection is just a hack, the aliasing of the images makes things wonky as the camera slides around. The only thing I can think of that would fix it is to have the camera only move in increments of "a pixel", so that the aliasing always gives the same results.

Oh, looks like I forgot to post this here. I finished these at the beginning of the month. Remember Cat Girl Without Salad?

Also, working on this led me to playing Mighty Switch Force! 1 and 2, which I really enjoy.

Yeah, sorry about that.  :-[ Lots of real life things have gotten in the way recently, such as me getting sick with something we can't explain yet and missing just about two weeks worth of work. I'm still trying to get my groove back, and I'm also working on (yet another) custom model. Once I finish with it, I'm hoping to finally start Majora's Mask and pick back up Yoshi. I have no idea how long it will take, but I'm going to shoot for August.

Wow, that was pretty impressive. I was even more impressed at the end when I learned most of those were just like four people.

My 32 GB SD Card came a day early, so I've been playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf all day! So far, I haven't been able to do much in the town of Delfino, but I'm loving it. Isabelle is just so cute!

Also, I played Mighty Switch Force! for the first time and kinda beat it in one sitting. I still have the bonus levels to do, but still. Fun game!

I've been playing more of Mario and Donkey Kong, and I have to revise my earlier assessment. Despite the early ones being easy, it soon gets to be difficult. A lot more difficult. I can't remember the last time I have been this frustrated at a game. Some of the levels in the main section have short time limits, and it's easy to lose track of time. There have been times where I'm not even halfway through a course before the 10 second countdown begins. And the terrifying buzzes it makes as it counts down makes it worse. That's why I'm sticking to the puzzle stages, which don't time you.

Despite the fact that I already have more games than I have time for, I went ahead and got Mario and Donkey Kong: Minis on the Move, Mighty Switch Force 2, and plan on getting Mighty Switch Force HD. So far, I've only played M&DK.

It's a cute little puzzle game, and definitely different from the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. It starts off really easy, with there being pretty much only one way to solve the earlier puzzles, but it soon branches off into four different game styles. Mario's Main Attraction, the primary mode, has you placing tiles that are shoved your way in order to reach the goal. Puzzle Palace gives you a limited set of pre-defined pieces, which you have to place in order to reach the goal, or it will give you a board full of pieces that you move around like a puzzle. In this mode, there is no rush or time limit, which means you have a lot of time to think. Many Mini Mayhem has all of the board already filled in, and you have to manage 2+ Minis walking around. Lastly, Big Jungle only has three stages, but each one is really big and has a lot to collect. Combined with the four fun mini-games it has (most of which involve a slingshot), this little game has of content. I guess that's why it's nearly $10...
