No hurry if you want to add more stuff...or you could add stuff later and I'll gladly replace any maps you improved on.  I just don't want to see anyone's work go to waste.

Me and Revned sometimes think too much alike that it's scary (though there have been exceptions)...

His and my votes are the same with the exception of II (I prefer Quick Man, as I said) and the reasoning behind Ice Man (I think he's cutesy and humourous-looking, and has blue, unlike the other boring/too similarly-coloured Robot Masters). I ALSO almost voted Pharaoh Man. Whoa.

I think TerraEsperZ's choices were probably all my next choices that I could see myself voting for.

If TerraEsperZ had remembered to actually vote for Cut Man in Mega Man, then all polls have 6 votes - including today so far. We need at least a seventh one before the day is over to break the current tie between Gravity Man and Napalm Man.

Well, we don't NEED one...I suppose they could both go to the finals. But what if, with only six voters, we come up with as much as a six-way tie? o_0

Are these ready to go as submissions or should I wait until you're all done?

I know you have other projects in the pipeline...like Treasure Master and Metroid Fusion.  Sometimes I wonder if I should put up some of what you have, if only to sort of "call dibs" on a game's maps more clearly than just stating so in the forums.

You wouldn't want me to put up a whole slew of Treasure Master maps submitted by someone else, now, would you?  If I didn't happen to remember that you started it and if their maps were as good as yours could ever be, then I would pretty much have to take theirs and your work would be unrecognized or redundant...

Just a suggestion.  I'm sure you don't want to be told how to work.

Maps Of The Month / RE: 2006/06: Mega Man VII (Super NES) - Geminiman

RyuMaster pretty much owns the Game Boy section, if Geminiman doesn't do it, then he might.  I recall that Revned also did some of one of the Game Boy games.

Oh, yeah, I also have to make the thumbnails for nearly all of the Game Boy games!  >_<

There's always SOMEthing...

Geminiman heavily worked on Mega Man - The Wily Wars, too. You might want to edit that in :)

Wow, looks like I'm forgetting a lot of stuff lately!  >_<

I can edit my post now but I'll have to edit the Maps Of The Month page when I get home.

I like how you choose maps appropriate to the month.

I try.  I figured Geminiman was long overdue for recognition, before it dawned on me that it was the month of Gemini anyway.

I also fixed Geminiman's email address, which was apparently incorrect all this time.  >_<

This is the first MotM this year from a game with a SHORT title.

Geminiman also completed Mega Man V the other day, so I should remember to make a thumbnail for it on the random map sets thing on the front page.

The poll for favourite Mega Man V Robot Master is today and VII's will be in two days.

And I really should stop leaving my decision 'til the last day of the month...  >_<

What's wrong with my images?  It worked in another topic.  You can't see the image, can you?  Unless I put it on ImageShack?  WTF!

Mega Man VII

For this month's "Maps of the Month" featurette, I wish to draw your attention to Geminiman's Mega Man VII (Super NES) maps.

Mega Man VII is a Mega Man game through and through.  Eight Robot Masters whose weapons are obtained to defeat another, Dr. Wily's the final boss, shooting and jumping and platforming action, etc.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, and Mega Man games are extremely popular here at VGMaps.com.  (Mega Man VII does introduce major character Bass, Wily's creation meant to rival Mega Man, and it is the only Mega Man game on the Super NES (unless you count the X (not "10") series, Mega Man Soccer, and the Japanese-only Mega Man & Bass).  So story-wise, it's pivotal, and milestone-wise, it's historical.)

One of the biggest Mega Man fans is Geminiman, if you couldn't guess by his name (though his horoscope sign is Gemini as well).  Since those born in June (except for the last ten days) are under the horoscope sign of Gemini, I thought it would be an appropriate month to recognize Geminiman's contributions.  Besides Mega Man VII, Geminiman has also worked on Mega Man: The Wily Wars, Mega Man V, Mega Man VI, Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man X and Mega Man X 3.  His work on the X series' games was instrumental in the April Fool's joke earlier this year, so he deserves credit for that too.

So to recognize the effort put into making these complete and classic maps, Geminiman's Mega Man VII maps will be known as VGMaps.com's Maps of the Month for June 2006.

He's got them now.  >_<  I didn't forget him.

3594
I gave Dan his items.

And I don't see how you guys don't think earning things is fun.  Oh, wait, I gave you guys the items.  Well, it's more fun to actually hold on to an item, even if it's just a virtual one.  And look, if I ever need to control it, I can always take away items.

When I was extremely active on other forums such as the old LUE2.com, earning things was part of the fun.  In a game-related environment, I don't see why you guys would object.  You don't want to start a game with everything available, now do you?  >_<

Look, it's additional incentive for newcomers to come back.  It's worked on me, so why wouldn't it work on others?

3595
Post a little more in the next few days, then remind me.  ;)

3596
That's odd.

I changed it.  If it changes back, then I'm guessing it's because of the EXP.  I'll decide whether or not to give some EXP as a MotM bonus in place of it.

I like how the Decepticon logo is there, but at the same time, "to punish and enslave" (which I assume is supposed to be a take on something like "to protect and serve" seems a little odd, cheesy even.

And Bonecrusher actually has a decal that says "Bonecrusher"...huh.  Well, then again, I think some Transformers decide on new names after getting a new form, but correct me if I'm wrong - but that could be a reason.  Now while I still lament that Bumblebee isn't true to form, at least being yellow with black stripes makes his name make some sense.

Hey, the Quick Boomerangs also waste the dragon easily!  Don't forget that!  And being a tough boss makes him a cool boss!

Okay, so he's defeated easily with Flash Man's and Air Man's weapons.  Still.

What a coincidence, that's today's Bob and George.

Quick Man's cool, too, come on!

He's like a streamlined, faster version of Cut Man.  He also wears his weapon on his head and it also comes back to him, albeit in a tighter arc.  And they're quicker and effective against the Wily bosses.  Boomerangs > Pac-Man blades anyway.  And, uh, red and yellow is cooler than pink or orange or whatever Cut Man is.  So bleah!  ;P

Wouldn't he need to throw more than one?  I thought the only one-hit KOs were in Mega Man II...(Powered-up Atomic Fire on Wood Man or Metal Blade on Metal Man's rematch.)

Unless, of course, his skill with it is better than Mega Man's...which is probably what you would say.

It would have made more sense to have made your campaign to support Cut Man BEFORE the first day's polls were up...
