Ebon Keep town opens up after destroying Ivor Tower? I didn't know it, sorry for that. Otherwise I would have mapped it.
About the walk through walls code: It did work perfectly for me, but I think that I had to try more than one code to find one that really got me through every obstacle, without dying. I can try to look up if I saved the emulator (with the codes activated) together with the raw project files. I think I did. I just need to find the CD.

By the way, it's great that you are going to find all ingredients hidden in the wild. I did not have the nerve to do that because the mapping project already took way too long.

There's another thing I found out later through a speedrun which therefor is not included in the maps: In the Desert of Doom (northern edge) there's a possiblity to call a whirlwind that gets you to a secret cave. The author of the speedrun I saw it in was "Saturn", if I remember correctly.

EDIT: I think I used this game genie code: 5DC5-CD7E. At least the expanded value, "8FAE70 70 03", matches the one from that old cheat database I used for mapping.

Gaming / Re: The History Of Nintendo (book series)

My copy of the book arrived today. It looks great, with that plastic cover and high-gloss paper. I haven't read much of it yet, so I cannot say much to the content.

Maps In Progress / Re: famicom star wars

This seems to be a different game from the Star Wars game I played on the NES. In the game I played you could drive with your speeder on Tatooine in an overhead perspective and there was a small cave that I visited first. Or are those passages omitted from the map set?

I think it's a bit too colourless and unintuitive, but this might be only my personal opinion. I wonder if it's possible to mix in some elements of the game using little graphics, for example a ladder/staircase icon beneath the arrows for Up/Down and a little chest icon instead of T (for treasures) or painting the floor in the main color of the in-game ground. However, because I do not know what the Accuracy and Intelligence fields (amongst others) mean (I didn't play the game very deeply) and how they could be displayed differently, this idea maybe cannot be followed.

Map Gab / Re: Little Samson (NES)

Very nice game. It looks very good for an NES game. I also once started mapping this game after playing through it because I thought the game would be the ideal candidate for some beautiful maps (what it really is, looking at your result) but I did only finish Little Samson's Intro Stage and did not continue afterwards.
So it's really nice to have a complete map set available for it now, thanks to you  :)

I don't remember the big crab from the Crab Ride stage so I must have skipped it by not falling (in my case most likely by cheating, using emulator save states). Very impressive size for a moving object.

It would be easier to decide when we could see both versions side-to-side.  :)

Cool, I am looking forward to Might and Magic 3 - because it was the first Might & Magic game I had. What kind of maps do you plan? With textures so that it looks colorful like ingame or more like a two-color map where only walls are distinguishable from floors?

Nice maps. They look very good. I really think I should play this game one day.  :)

Nice new forum. It was a bit difficult to get access because I first had to reregister my e-mail account which I used to register here (@poczta.onet.pl) because the old software didn't allow me to use only two letters after the first dot in the address's domain-part - which is the case for my standard e-mail account.
But now I have changed my profile so that I do not have to go through this struggle again when that unused mail account will be disabled sooner or later.

If there is a possibility to automatically map the old forum links to the new URLs, that would be great.

Map Requests / RE: Rayman original
« on: July 23, 2009, 09:14:51 am »
I once began mapping Rayman but never got far, mostly because I had trouble extracting the background in the first boss battle against Mosquito (I think that's its name) - and after some weeks I hadn't have enough time anymore to go on mapping it.

I don't mind if someone else tries to map it, although I might get back to mapping the game in the future.

This looks impressive. Which programming language are you using for writing the code?

This looks good. But you did use a program for this, too - or did you create it manually?

It's a selfdrawn bear and a random pyramid in the background. I put that pyramid in there because of my fondness for the demoscene.

I was looking for Zelda : Oracle of Seasons maps, I think. I don't remember exactly why I was searching for them, but I got this website as a result in Google.

Well, Happy New Year everyone. I also think it won't be that different from other years.
