Anyone having trouble accessing VGMaps.com?
« on: November 14, 2011, 11:12:05 pm »
This is strange...since this afternoon, I've had trouble getting on to the main page.

Seems like the forums are still accessible.  The main page seems to need the "www." in front, but even then it doesn't work too well - missing images or ridiculously slow.

Sometimes I see random letters appearing after the URL (some kind of redirect?), or a "too many redirects" error.  I hope we are not the target of something malicious.

I'll use the VGMaps Twitter feed (which I never really used before) to communicate things if the situation doesn't get fixed soon.

EDIT: Ironically, right after I posted this, things seem okay again...weird.

I've noticed it on the forums a couple of times in the last day or two.

Me too - the random letters thing. It's always randomly ridiculously slow, though.

Yesterday I noticed the redirection happen on the front page, then was immediately redirected properly. This tells me that there might be some kind of malware that's trying to intercept requests.

Yeah, I've noticed the forums acting weird, putting extra info in the URL query. Separated with semicolons, no less, which is odd. Has it always been like that? And the info it is putting in the query is pretty odd, like "num_replies=4" and my session ID. No weird redirects, though.
