N-Sider.com has a handy "Nintendo Wii Calculator", to easily figure out how much you'll spend on launch day.

(If this is accurate, looks like I have to save up $513.99.  That's in Canadian dollars, with 6% tax, and includes a second WiiPointer, second Nunchuk, two Classic Controllers, Zelda: Twilight Princess, and 2000 WiiPoints.  Splitting the cost with my brother, that's almost exactly $257.  Not bad.)

EDIT: If the price doesn't update when adding/subtracting games, choose a different tax rate and then reselect the proper one.

My brother's birthday is Nov. 14, so if I can't find something for him for that day, I suppose I could pay for a larger chunk of that $513.99.

That's all the response here?  It's like these forums are very "meh" on the Wii.  How sad.  :(

To be fair, I'm very "meh" on any actual console I have no money for...

Well, I live in The Netherlands so I can't really use this calculator. Except for the SNES, I've never bought a console in the first few months that it came out. Most of my friends usually do though, so I tend to go to their place and try some games before I buy it myself :)

If I lived in the USA, I would spend something around $350. That includes one retro controller, Zelda and maybe 1000 VCPs (virtual console points).

I figure I'll be plenty entertained by Zelda for a while, no need to go on a spending spree.
