Did you guys see that trailer before Transformers?  Possibly a monster/disaster film shot on home video?  Freaky!

Here's the video:

The teaser site...not much now...

A forum with some explanation and speculation...

http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/06/29/jj-abrams-top-secret-trailer-for-cloverfield-in-front-of-transformers/

I like some of the theories.  Like how the date is 01/18/08, original image on the original viral site is 108 kb, the numbers that keep showing up in his TV series Lost add up to 108...I don't watch Lost, though...

And then there are the Voltron and Evangelion "theories".  Ha!

It was a freaky trailer, being down there with the people and their cameras...though there was a big explosion and some things flying around, there was a real sense of fear, unlike in Transformers, where very few humans actually got hurt.  Something about the Statue of Liberty's head being lopped off is pretty malicious, too...there would never have been a point for Megatron to do that, for instance...

Any, here's an apparently-possibly related site...five cryptic puzzles...

http://www.ethanhaaswasright.com/

Hmmm, more on August 01...which is 08/01...I don't know if this is creepy or cool...

EDIT: Never mind, that link to the Flash puzzles has nothing to do with the film...

I honestly remember seeing some trailer before seeing Transformers, but I really didn't pay much attention to it. Sad
