One question Jon, what about the Wario Land games? Wario maybe different from Mario but would games of him fit in the Mario Mania section?

In my mind, Wario is Wario, a character distinct from the Mario series even though he participates a lot in the Mario universe (like how Yoshi and Donkey Kong do).

It's true that Super Mario Land 3 is Wario Land, like how Super Mario World 2 is Yoshi's Island.  Wario Land spawned its own sequels and Yoshi got a few platformers of his own, like Yoshi's Story and then the GBA/DS ones.

But I included Yoshi's Island in the Mario Mania chapter in the Super NES Game Atlas because it at least featured Baby Mario, whereas I don't recall Mario being present at all in Wario Land...is he?

Like I said about the Mario edutainment titles in the other two topics, it shouldn't matter a ton if they're included in here or not.  If they are mapped, I'll gladly take them, and I'm sure everyone will still appreciate them.

Perhaps I am a little rigid about sticking to the exact series outlined by the original NES Game Atlas (hence all the Disney games, just because of Duck Tales and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers).  It is true that the Game Boy has (and introduced) notable series like Wario, Kirby, and Pok?mon.  Hmmm...

Maybe it's a can of worms or a Pandora's Box I don't want to open just yet.  For a guy who doesn't have time to map games anymore, often I feel like these "Game Atlas" requests are a little much.  Thankfully they're of series that will probably get mapped eventually anyway, but if I add Wario, Kirby, and Pok?mon "chapters" to this (and a Donkey Kong Country "chapter" to the Super NES Game Atlas) then people are going to say "why isn't [this] or [that] in here?"  I'm going to have to draw the line somewhere, so for now I might as well keep it where it is, saying that I'm sticking to the book.

If people want certain series mapped, so they can draw attention every time a map is made for it, nothing is stopping them from making their own topic (a la marioman's Mega Man topic, which I think is the most popular topic thread here on these forums, actually).

Mario shows up at the end of Wario Land to steal the giant statue of Princess Peach that is revealed when Captain Syrup's castle is destroyed. (Sorry if I spoiled it for anyone.) Though, it's still pretty much a Wario-only game.

Wario Land 3 would be interesting to map, consdering pretty much every level has not only day and night versions, but different versions made from collecting treasures. That will make things rather messy. I've considered taking a stab at it, but it wouldn't be for a long time. I think I'm a little too ambitious. :P

A late-Sunday update consisting of Will's complete map set of Ninja Gaiden Shadow starts and completes the Ninja Magic chapter.  Good job, Will!

Too bad the game doesn't look quite on par with the NES games...and yes, I know it was originally meant to be a Shadow Of The Ninja game, but still...

I have begun Mickey's Dangerous Chase, which for some reason is called just "Mickey's Chase" without 'Dangerous' in the title.

I have finished and submitted the remaining maps of Mickey's Dangerous Chase. I think I'll tackle "Duck Tales 2" next.

I have submitted half the Duck Tales 2 maps. I am scanning each level because there are a lot of secret passages that were hard to find. Even StarFighters missed many of those passages on his maps especially in Egypt and Niagara.

The Duck Tales games have the trickiest passages in any platformer I've ever seen. Something tells me that Ryumaster's "Duck Tales" (GB), Blubu's "Duck Tales" (NES) and both my "Duck Tales 1 & 2" (NES) maps are all not as complete as it would seem. If anyone is specialised in both NES and GB hacking let me know.

Mickey's (Dangerous) Chase by Will Mallia is now complete.

Duck Tales 2 has now been started by Will Mallia, with maps of Niagara, Egypt, and Mu.

For whatever reason, I kept misspelling "Dangerous" (as in "Mickey's (Dangerous) Chase") as "Dangeroud" nearly every time I wrote it (I even did it again in this very post before correcting myself).  I guess my finger strayed to the right one key...good thing I didn't do that with the first letter of "Duck Tales 2"!  :P

Duck Tales 2 has been completed by Will Mallia.

What's next?  Darkwing Duck, perhaps?

I've decided to do Talespin the last of the games I have previously mapped on the NES system. Darkwing Duck and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? are both new to me, but I'll get through eventually.

Today I've finished Talespin. Surprisingly that version is very short because it has 5 stages instead of 8 (not to mention the Iron Vulture) and only one bonus stage.

My next target is one of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle games.

Sorry for the lateness, but Will's maps for TaleSpin are now up.
