Gaming / RE: Super Metroid: Impossible

I haven't really gotten very far, but from what I can tell the layout of the map hasn't changed. However, he has switched around the items quite a bit. I only entered Norfair for the first time, but the only items I have are 10 missles, the morph ball, and bombs. I can already see the Gravity Suit, but it's behind a gate (and in a heated room).

In addition, this hack makes Redesign or Limit look like child's play. For example, you have to go through the Crateria gauntlet to even get to Brinstar for the first time.

In other words, no.

The title of the hack speaks for itself. My suggestion is that you don't play it unless you're a glutton for punishment or a cheater.

One day should be 24 minutes a la Majora's Mask. Time could be sped up/slowed down by an item.

Also, here's a set of rough guidelines.

General:

-No more than 4 colors per 8x8 tile

-No more than 16 colors per screen

Dungeons:

-Rooms are 15 blocks wide and 11 blocks tall

-For you own sanity, please don't have any floors bigger than 8x8 rooms

Overworld:

-Each screen is 10 by 8 blocks

I'll map the ship, even if it steals my sanity.

I would map the mode 7 stages for the sake of completeness, but doubt I'd get a satisfactory result unless I ripped them directly from the RAM.

I've made some progress on the map. The background for the first part of the stage has been successfully inserted.

Maps Of The Month / RE: 2006/12: Aunt Arctic Adventure (Amiga) - Grizzly

I randomly browsed through the maps for a bit. From what I can tell, the point of the game is to go down one huge cave to rescue somebody. Assuming that 16 pixels equal 1 meter, the cave would be roughly 2.5 kilometers (1.5 miles) deep.

All I have to say is that's gonna been quite a long return trip.

No Wii because they're sold out, or because you're planning on buying one for yourself?

The former.

I'm really bad at chess anyway.

Same here.

Here's a Christmas present for you:

It's a WIP of Stage 1. The main layer is done and the other layers are just waiting to go into place.

I won't be mapping Stages 2 or 5 (the mode 7 ones).

Yes, I know the changes are minor, but I still think they should be included in the maps somehow.

There is an editor for Yoshi's Island called 'Eggvine.' However, it's as non-graphical as you can get, so it's practically useless as far as mapping is concerned.

Map Requests / RE: Mega Man Maps

After looking through the list again I just realized that Mega Man X has 13 maps left, not 10. Some stages change as a result of beating other stages.

I finished Christmas shopping about a week ago. As a result, my current net worth is $6 (USD), but that doesn't really matter considering the fact I'm 15.

In OoA Link collected the 'Essences of Time' (eg Eternal Spirit) to restore the Maku Tree's memory and in OoS he collected the 'Essences of Nature' (eg Bright Sun) for some stupid reason (probably involving trees). I think he should be collecting the 'Essences of the Soul' (eg Crimson Love or Sharp Instinct) this time around to restore somebody's sanity (like a tree).
