Nice! I've always been intrigued by this game since seeing it in my first issue of Nintendo Power. I rented it but didn't get really far since back then, my grasp of English was pretty poor.

I think I got stuck in the pyramid since I was incapable of pulling off the wall-jump, and only saw further stages because a friend of mine was much better than me.

I've also heard that most people consider this a "bastard" version of Strider compared to the original Arcade version and the Genesis port. Have you ever played it KingKuros?

It took me a while to figure out the "triangle jump" myself.  I have never seen any other versions of this game, but I'll take a look at the arcade version sometime soon.

Here's what I have left to do:

If I remember my GameFan days (god, how I miss that magazine which died in the great dot com crash), Strider 2 was released on the Playstation along with the first game on the same disc. I wonder if that ISO is available somewhere...

Nice maps and it made me try yet another game I've never played before.

I was wondering though, how do you decide what palette to use? Do you use the 'default' one that comes with the emulator or just a custom one? Or does it depend on what game you're mapping (choose whatever palette looks nice for that game)?

I use the default settings on Nestopia 1.26.

I looked at and played the arcade version of Strider a little bit and I tell you, it sure is a heck of a lot different from the NES version.  It has some flashy animations and 3 layers of parallax scrolling.  So I won't bother trying to map it (for now).
