WOW! Jon that's hard to believe.  If I didn't know your mapper style before I know now, your a modifier, and a master to.  You can't get away with that "oh I'm not a good mapper" stuff anymore.  You could make sprite and tile mod circles around me.  I had to smile when I recognized the boss from Sky Blazer.

I am most impressed with how you layed it all out, mostly with the secrets and backtracking and such. I mean, sure, I could probably make a layout of a game if I sat down for several months and put lots of effort into it, but it's still very impressive. I'm hoping that at some point, someone makes a rom hack using the Fusion/Zero Mission editor out of these maps. It would certainly be fun to try. :D

Fun fact: This "game" is about 5 rooms smaller than Metroid 2.

Oh, and next year consider splitting up the workload. :P

Let me know when the 2010 future project starts up, I think I'm ready to contribute.

Once again, I want to say excellent job. It's even more impressive after seeing all the thought and planning that went into it. :D

I'll definitely keep all this in mind whenever I design my own Metroid areas. :P

Very nice work Jon.  The Metroid Dread maps are some of the nicest maps to look at I've seen in a while.

That sounds both difficult and completely epic at the same time...

Maybe I could assist in the 2010 project. I've already got some ideas running through my head, and even though barely anyone here knows me, I've got great spriting skills.

(Also, I recognized that giant Alien-ant boss instantly as being from some ActRaiser game.)

Great job on the Metroid Dread maps!  You should apply for a job at Nintendo to design the levels for the next Metroid game :)

Thanks for all the comments.  :)  And nice to hear from some of you we haven't heard from in awhile!

Has anyone managed to identify the bosses?

And has anyone attempted to "play" the game?

I recognized the bosses you stole from Sky Blazer and Demon's Crest, but that's about it.

I was disappointed that April 1 this year didn't generate any more hits than usual - the day was above average for hits but certainly not a peak - but maybe it's just taken a while for people to notice the joke.

Also on Digg.

The number of hits may not be as high as last year, but at least the sources of publicity are more visible.  Too bad the people at the Metroid Wikia wouldn't let you post a link.
