Can it be? The maps for the greatest Mega Man game ever created are complete at last! =D

I just started OoT: Master Quest today and made it all the way up to Jabu-Jabu's Belly. I have to say, as my first time through the MQ version, some of those dungeon rooms get pretty danged tough! We'll see how things continue tomorrow.

Maps Of The Month / RE: 2006/11: Super Mario Bros. 3 (NES) - Various

(Whoa, blast from the past!)

Yes, I second these suggestions for the second Bowswer room (haha, no pun intended)--and text free as well. Besides, SMB3 is enough of a classic that anyone who *doesn't* know there are two Bowser rooms in that fortress has probably never even played Mario before (at least not during the 2D era).

Maybe Will himself can offer a suggested order? I wonder how close he's getting to finishing off that game now...

Also, looking up at the intro stage issue from Mega Man X--wow, it's amazing how I'd never even noticed that before! (And I'd been playing that game since 8th grade.) I'm thinking marioman's PC version recommendation might be the best for that intro stage.

Yeah, I mixed thoughts on MMX8. The stage design was absolutely deplorable, but everything else was pure gold--'tis unfortunate that level design is so fundamental. =P

I do highly recommend X7. It's not as good as many others in the X series, but if you made it through X6, you should have little problem with X7. The camera's a bit of a problem in some places (here's looking at you Wind Crowrang's stage), but not as bad as most make it out to be. The Sigma battles at the end of the game (c'mon, that's not really a spoiler, is it? ;) are among the best in the whole series IMO.

As for me, I have Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest coming up as soon as I finish a couple other things I have going on.

*sees Geminiman and drools* What map did Geminiman grace us with?

And I'm guessing Will's are predominantly MM:Battle Network maps?

I'm really wondering how Battle Mode is going to turn out. I thought it rather failed in DD, but had been epic on 64.

No, but I'm certainly curious now!

At long last. The first two Oracle games were a bit sloppy in presentation and clumsy in execution. This one, however, delivers--Farore's time to shine!

I'm really glad you mapped this one, Jon. Kudos!

Actually, I've seen screenshots of the book containing art from the Rockman World series (Mega Man I-V on Game Boy) as well as Xtreme 1 and 2. =D

As for Mega Man Soccer, Battle & Chase, Powered Up, or Maverick Hunter X, I have no idea.

I have nothing really to add to this conversation except absolutely, completely 100% seconding what Jon said above about Mega Man X Command Mission.

Ever since I was in middle school, the original MMX on Super NES had reigned as my favorite Mega Man game of all time. That remained true as I played every game in the X series. However, this past January, I finally got to Command Mission for the first time--and it dethroned X1 for the first time in 13 years. I *love* that game! (The irony, of course, is that the first time I ever saw that game in a game store, my first thought was, "Mega Man? X? As an *RPG*?" And I nearly gagged. Little did I know it would become my fave. =D

@marioman: There are rumors, but I haven't heard anything definitively yet.

@Jon: You make a good point there. Still, I hear that there's all sorts of valuable storyline info about MM canon in these type books that we English-speaking folk don't see unless we happen to be on a MM forum with an uber MM nerd who knows Japanese and has these kinds of sourcebooks to cite in debate threads. =P

Dangit, why don't these things come out in English? I can't read Japanese. =(
