Thanks Jon! Yeah, for some reason SMRPG must've passed me by in my younger days when it was first released. I've never really been into RPGs normally (except Mega Man X Command Mission, which I ended liking a hell of a lot more than I thought I would), but I think I want to try the Mario RPGs. Uprising is probably going to come first, though.

Anyway, here's my latest gaming to-do list!
- New Super Luigi U
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- DuckTales Remastered
- Super Mario 3D World
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
- Kid Icarus: Uprising
- Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars
- Paper Mario
- Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
- Super Paper Mario
- Paper Mario: Sticker Star
- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
- Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
- Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
- Super Mario Land
- Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
- Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3
- Wario Land II
- Wario Land 3
- Wario Land 4
- Wario World
- Wario: Master of Disguise
- Wario Land: Shake It!

Yeah, that should keep me occupied for a little while. :P

So I've recently finished New Super Mario Bros. U, and sometime in the next couple weeks I plan to take on New Super Luigi U. After that will be The Wind Waker HD, which I imagine will take me past or near enough to November 22. So after those two games, I'll have A Between Worlds and Super Mario 3D World added to my to-play list, and I imagine I'll get to them shortly afterward.

Assuming I finish all four games by Christmas break, that leaves me with an interesting decision. I will play either Super Mario RPG, the Wario Land series, or Kid Icarus: Uprising.

So in sum, here's what's to come:
- New Super Luigi U
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD
- Super Mario 3D World
- The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

After that, it's a toss-up between these three:
- Super Mario RPG
- Wario Land series
- Kid Icarus: Uprising.

Which one of those three do you think should be priority for me? (And damn, I forgot about DuckTales Remastered, haha. The NES original was such a part of my childhood!)

Proud to say that I am a backer (Becker?) for this project! :D

Totally stoked for this game, and to the tune of $4 million just on Kickstarter/PayPal alone, I *really* hope Capcom is paying attention.

Awesome! That was a really neat moment from arguably the best Donkey Kong game of them all. :D

Glad to see you back, Peardian--and definitely looking forward to Majora's Mask.

Map Requests / New Super Mario Bros. 2?
« on: September 08, 2013, 07:01:59 AM »
I'm wondering, since it's on the 3DS, is it even possible to map this one? I know the original on DS was mapped, and there was talk about mapping the Wii version as well.

I think the main thing I'm interested in are maps for all the DLC coin packs, to see where all the secrets in those stages are. :)

Hey Peardian! So when do you think you'll be finishing the Yoshi's Island GBA Secret stages? :)

Playing through Super Mario 3D Land right now (only took me a couple years to get to it, ha).

It's a very fun little game so far. I was worried how the mixture of 3D and NSMB elements would mesh together, but it's really nice. It's not quite to the level of the Galaxy games of course, but I probably like it better than the NSMB series. I do wish there was more than one inventory slot, though.

Just beat the game today, so now it's on to the Special Worlds and Luigi mode!

Maps Of The Month / Re: 2013/06: VVVVVV (PC) - Technos

This game easily has the most bizarre name of any video game in history.

Congrats, Techno!

RPGs aren't really my thing--I prefer Mario as a platformer. :P

In fairness, SMRPG is on my list to get to one of these days. After all, while I don't normally like RPGs, I did give Mega Man X Command Mission a try and surprisingly ended up liking it a lot more than I thought. Perhaps the same will be true for SMRPG as well.

That does look awesome. I take it that's a boss in Super Mario RPG?

I think these look great, Peardian! Alas, I'm one of those rare schmucks who never got around to playing Super Mario RPG, though I do plan to play through it one of these days.

I also really liked the 3D items from Super Mario Bros. 2! You should do more of those too. :D

I think Terra makes some excellent points, and in general I would agree that an established mapmaker's maps (particularly ones honored as Maps of the Month) should stand--but in this particular case, it's been since 2004, both since the maps were made and honored. That's almost a decade. Mapping has improved considerably since then, so (with all due respect to Stefan) I would like to see SNESmaster's SMW maps go up.

Of course there's also a personal bias here in that I recently played SMW a few months ago for the first time in several years, and I found it slightly jarring (and annoying) that I couldn't remember where power-ups were--and there were no maps I could find online that would tell me which question blocks held power-ups! :P

Ah, oh well. To be honest, I'm more excited about Majora's Mask maps anyway!
